We have a full weekend of sport for you to experience. Get in a good training weekend before the triathlon season!
Saturday 28th May: Cycle Sportive
The New Forest Rattler is the original New Forest Sportive, in the stunning New Forest National Park.
Set up in 2012 by a passionate cyclist, this family run event puts the rider in the heart of everything it does.
The event evolved in 2019 when Triathlete Kelly got involved and decided it was too much of a great opportunity not to spend the weekend swimming, cycling, running and camping with friends!
The Cycle gives you three route options to choose; 47 miles, 82 miles or the Epic 100 miles. Each route takes in the very best of the New Forest where you will encounter the famous free roaming wildlife. Horses, donkeys, pigs, deer and cows all roam free in the New Forest so don't be surprised if there are a few donkeys chilling out in the middle of the road.
The ride is fully supported with a mechanic, medics, feed stations and well sign posted route.
You will be rewarded at the end with a fantastic medal.
Sunday 29th May is swim and run day!
Swim in the beautiful Ellingham Lake, just up the road from Moyles Court School. Swim starts from 0600.
Distances include:
Epic - 3.8km
Std - 2.5km
Half - 1.4km
Why not then include a run from 11am. There are choices of 5k, 10K, Half marathon or full marathon distance.
The course is a mixture of quiet country roads and off road trail. Aid stations and fab medal for all finishers.
Run Waves are as follows:
Marathon start: 10:00am
Half Marathon start: 11:00am
10K start: 11:30
5K start: 12noon
These waves have been set due to ensuring we follow all Forestry England guidance. If you have entered the swim we will give you the late start so you can get changed and recover.
You can enter one event or if you are up for it enter the ride, swim and run!
Lots of options to choose from making it perfect for a training weekend with mates. Free t-shirt to those that enter all 3 events. Unfortunately camping will not be available for this event anymore.
Under 16s get to ride for free with their responsible adult in the sportive and can take part with their adult in the 5K.
This event will also be supporting Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. HIOWAA is an independent Charity that brings an advanced Critical Care Team to the most seriously ill and injured patients in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, giving them the best chance of survival and recovery, when the worst happens. It currently costs £15,000 a day to maintain their life saving service. You can find out more information on what they do HERE
